Has anyone done the camping before? Is it worth doing? Anyone else doing it?

Yes- for the last 10 years or so. There is a clubhouse with beer and "entertainment" see organisers for details. The showers are pretty basic. The on-site food shop is quite something if a bit pricey.

Yes- take a winter grade sleeping bag and/or a warm companion. Ice on the tents overnight is not unknown. Some people pitch theirs in the cattle sheds.

It's a shame that the Blackdown Lodge is now closed. It was VERY basic with plain rooms and no en-suite facilities but it was on site (near the Kennel Club building) and cheap enough.

Who's going on which days ? Would be good to meet up with those going to the LeMans Classic. I can go either day at the moment.

So neither day is looking good weather wise, I think they should move the event to the end of May bank holiday to get better weather. We will be heading up on Sunday - although a) without the MX250 b) not staying over night this year

Good news and bad news. Progress on the build has been better then expected, plus my mate who has the body shop has just finished the restoration on a customers Daimler SP250 (Dart) so there is a spare bay at his premises, so my car is now down there but totally stripped down to get the panels straight, level and the gaps set better then I had previously. Since they will be doing the spray job, with a little help from yours truly its the best place for it to be, consequently I wont be coming down to Stoneleigh in the SWB. I will still be coming down but in my daily run around and hoping to pick every ones brains and take loads of photos to help me along.I have a load of pics but I am not much good on the PC but I will try to post some pics. looking forward to it. Trev

Thanks Chris, I was looking forward to the run down to Stoneleigh in the SWB almost has epic as the run from your place up to Bolton. I have been running the car since I picked it up in Feb with no problems at all. I have managed to transfer so photos onto my PC, just need to see if I can post them on the forum. Thanks for the offer of the hood motor/pump will pick it up at the show, I can at least show you the pics/ progress if I cant post them. I will be coming down with my mate who has the body shop so he will be able to see the standard he has to aspire to.

I am sure your car is not that bad!

:-)

There is no mention of dogs at all in any of the paperwork they sent me. You could give them a ring on 01406 372600 to check.

It is normally a farming show area too so my guess would be that dogs are fine if kept under control

Just wear sunglasses and put a coat on the dog and they will think its a guide dog!

We took ours last year, even in the halls, no problem.
They even let my wife in!!

Hi,

hopefully getting my Kobra tomorrow and all being well come up to Stoneleigh for the show on either Sunday or Monday.
Will it be alright to park on Clubstand or do I need to join owners club first ?

At the moment don't know what day I'm going on. It depends on how car goes on collection tomorrow - driving from Devon to Swindon.
Think weather forecast iffy on both days.
