Having visited Chris today, I can only say how horrible this car is in the flesh, none of you will like it, stay well clear...

That should give me some time to save up before all the other buggers buy one. It truly is stunning.

Had some spare time on my hands today so thought Id do a bit of 'Shopping.
Shortened the NART nose behind the front wheels and increased the length of the area immediately in front of the rear wheels. Also changed the shape of the doors to get closer to the Z3/Tribute door aperture.Lastly I reduced the size of the side vents and plonked a windscreen on top. The rake on the screen was actually almost identical to the Z3 which is a bonus! Added some contemporary wheels to finish. Personally I love the side chrome under the door and think, if used, will mask the sill line nicely.

It's not close, it's spot on, even better in the flesh.

Default Hinges

The boot hinges are old Mini, from 'minispares' in Potters Bar.

They have been trimmed a bit to smooth them out and angled the bases a little to accommodate the curvature of the boot lid and body.

They look pretty correct to the original car. Nice find and thanks for passing that along!

Hopefully Chris will be able to offer the hidden hinge assembly the same as the 250swbc, very neat, looks less like a kit car and most importantly very quick and easy to fit.

The external hinges are key to complete the look of the car IMO. Like the door handles, pininfarina badges, and and chrome strips down the side they make up the jewelry of it all.

This was at Prescott over the weekend , please see the attached photo's.

Looked quite original and not over restored at all. I wanted to get photo's of the interior but the owner wasn't about.

Thanks for these photos.
Lovely to see in the flesh.
Short nose.
No exterior mirrors.
Refined door handles.
Good to see it looking used.

No nasty exposed boot hinges on this one.

I personally think that Chris's version is much lighter looking at the back and I also prefer the front.
Can't wait to see the convertible version.

Sorry I didn't take any of the 225. It was stunning having just been rebuilt/restored over a number of years. Try YouTube for the Prescott event, lots of posts so far showing many of the cars on display.

Hope to see the soft top version from Tribute soon ?
