It already had split convoluted trunking for the wiring running from the passenger side boot area, up the underside of the boot lid (to supply the number plate lamp).
What's the clip on edging look like?

A lot of time is spent but it's worth it, it's going to be a great car.

Loving your thread and build. I aim / plan to do a Kobra in the future and am loving some of your ideas - over riders, door cards, wire wheels.
It will be a while before i get to doing a Kobra, i have MX250 No 2 to finish first!
Keep up the good work.

Check out "Brushed Stainless Effect Plastic 'U' Edge Trim 5mm x 3mm" on eBay- many finishes from plain black to chrome effect available.
Also- "Black Flexible Conduit Split & Non Split Convoluted Tube Cable Tidy Trunking" for the trunking.

Ah, I forgot that you are 'across the pond'. I am sure that even with any taxes, they are still a good deal.

Thanks for the feedback. Kobra's are a great way to enter the world of kit cars. Your MX250 looks complete from what I saw in your build thread. Awesome piece of work!

Thanks Ian. I found the Brushed Stainless Effect Plastic 'U' Edge Trim 5mm x 3mm on ebay. Looks nice. But which part of the boot, the Z3 boot edge, the Kobra boot edge, or both? I can't see that stuff providing a water tight seal for the boot (in green below), so I guess you mean the Z3 boot edge (in red below).

Couldn't resist stopping off at the spray shop today to grab another update. He has finished prepping all the GRP panels, with just the doors and a few bits on the car to go. He said there was some kind of reaction when he tested out the solvent based metallic blue paint. He reckons it was down to one of the primers I used. Either way, he has recommended water based paint, to elliminate the problem. Although, the price has gone up
That said, he showed me the paint. Metallic blue with a 75g of pearl in there. It looks great in the pot, hopefully even better when on the car. He says I can pick her up Friday at 5pm. Considering what's left to do, I can't see how it'll be ready. I have already told him I can pick it up next week, and not to rush. But he insists it'll be ready on Friday.

The Z300S uses the standard BMW boot lid trim.

If you are referring to the red one, that is No1. No2 has been sheeted up in a mates yard for nearly 3 years after picking up a bargain of a part finished one off Gumtree. Keep an eye out for a new thread coming soon!

Ah, I see. I have a saved search on 'unfinished projects' on ebay, but never thought about Gumtree. Good luck with No.2. I will keep my eye out for the build thread.
