i have a ford 1.3xflow from a mk1 escort with broken oil rings scored bore etc
so i was wondering if it was possiable to fit any other 1.4or 1.6 up to the gearbox i already have ?most of the cars to day are fwd any help or advice

the ford fiesta used the old kent sieries so you might be able to get a decent low milage example from a breakers, im not 100 per cent sure but i think that the escort box is the same fittings as the later type 9 , so any ford engine should in theory fit it doesnt mater that an engine is out of a front wheel drive ,the bell housing should match up to the block

i dont have any idea about cars but i suggest consult a person who studied diesel mechanics. hope they can help you.good luck.
