Default High speed tyres for a 330p4 replica

I need to replace the tyres on my Ferrari replica 255/60x15 and 225(or 235)/60x15 but cannot find anything with a suitable speed rating 180mph or near that. Any ideas ?

Was your P4 replica designed to travel at such speeds and is it actually capable of exceeding 180mph?

The UK regulations say that the speed rating of the tyres needs to reflect the speeds that the vehicle was designed to achieve, but there's a 'get out' clause for fast classics in that if W or Z rated tyres weren't available/fitted when the car was new you can still fit tyres to the same specification as the original equipment fitted at the factory (hope that makes sense?).

You'd have to check your local regulations (can't see there being too much bureaucracy in France...), but I would suggest that fitting the highest speed rated tyres that are actually available would be a sensible thing to do.

Love to hear more about your P4 and see some pictures, btw.

Estimated top speed of mine is 180mph, fitted with a PRV 3 litre V6 much modified but not turbocharged. It is a Kitdeal/Noble car and he raced a 330 hp version
You are wrong about France - it is stiff with regulations, and especially so with kitcars as they have practically nothing in that field and are highly protective. It is just that many people ignore the regulations and it is then a roulette as to whether you get caught - worth taking in some aspects, but probably not with something as obvious as a P4

I had Michelin Pilots on my P4 - ZR rated I think. I know they were bloody expensive but I was running larger wheels so not really helpful. Nothing could touch that car in 3rd!

180mph? Previous owner of mine had adjustable tie bars from base of side window to the top of the door arc as the tops of the doors lifted over 150...

Changed hands a few times now - last time for 50 grand!! Ludicrous..

15" wheels are an absolute monster to find high speed tyres for. The sizes you are looking for, from my experience, don't exist with a high speed rating. I ended up with BF Goodrich tyres on my MX which only go up to 110 mph beacuse of the width I wanted.

The closest you will find are Toyo R888R's which come in a 225 and 235 width but are only a 50 profile. https://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motor...oyo-r888r-tyre

The only others I can find are from Northants Tyres who supply "muscle car" rubber - this one will go up to 149mph - http://www.northhantstyres.com/main-...GalVR-RWL.html
