Default Reuse of stock Ford ECU etc

Guys - treat me gently if this has already been covered elsewhere...newbie alert...ok?

Can the stock ecu and injection (etc) be reused on a zetec rather than going metasquirt or whatever?

The basics of ecu's etc is fairly fundamental... and it must be possible to reuse donor parts... yes?

Dont worry welcome,

Yes you can but it does take a bit of time to work out the wiring a wiring diagram is always useful,

What dash are you going to run?

You may as well use most of the loom out of the car for light etc

have a look at this though we can get more power out of the engine with a custom ecu, also it may be more expensive in intial cost but less in time,

I have two kits for this, ignition and complete ecu system

Have a look at some of these items

Hi - and thanks for the reply.

I had not considered the dash yet... and had assumed that the Mondeo dash was not that much integrated with the ecu... but I guess I am wrong!

Are there third party dashes that will work with the ford ecu?

I just feel happier that I would end up with a nice smooth running vehicle with injection rather than going "back" (dont shoot me for that"!) to DCOE's.... I have not been there since my days of mk1 escorts! I appreciate the DCOE performance and noise.... hard to beat!
