Default DVLA engine numbers

hi all the very nice people at the dvla after months of waiting have now sent a letter asking for for my chase number and my engine number. chase number is on the bulk head, I have found the b6 number on the engine but were is the serial number and can I see it with the engine in the car. the log book is at the dvla.any ideas anyone can it be found by doing a history check on the car

I will have a look on our workshop "JIG" mx tomorrow, but I don't have a clue where it is either.

Hi, if you PM me the Registration number I can do a HPi check on the car which will give the engine number and the chassis number.
Costs £8 but you get a printed certificate

thanks for the reply are we sure it will give me the engine serial number on a hpi check.....its one to warn people about copy your log book before you send it the dvla are just messing me around .

hi all the engine number is on the back of the block by the fire wall witch I did find but also did a phi cost me under a fiver but best to be sure don't want a other letter from the dvla . on a up I got insurance today for 133 full comp with no no claims
