Still not entirely sure about 15 or 16" wheels - almost certain about going MWS stainless 16s as every time I see them on Richards car they just look in proportion to body size.

Final visit to car yesterday before paint process starts sometime next week - in my head it looks stunning but still nervous even tho I trust Richard totally.

Still plenty of custom fabrication to be done after paint - one word - bumpers!

Good to meet Andy after following his Kali build thread from the start - also v. helpful re-replacement dash fascia as I'm adapting it to fit like the Lockwood one does after seeing his Lockwood gauges (no dial removal needed). Andy's car will definitely be one to watch in coming months

Default Nubodi visit

It was fantastic to meet you Scott and Richard plus team on Thursday. The gaps Nubodi have sorted out on Scott's build are fantastic and I'm hoping Richard you and your team can work that magic on mine. I'm really looking forward to see how your build comes along Scott and need plenty of pictures please!

As I put my build on hold for a few months I'm now itching to get it going again, however I think you will finish before me Scott!

Cheers

I'm not sure it'll ever be "finished" - there's a fair bit i want to try and get done before Stoneleigh though!

I do like looking at this for inspiration

Wheels ordered - full knock offs with tri ear spinners. They're coming from.....wait for it.....Australia!!

Bizarrely worked out cheaper than Dayton from the states - plus the fact Dayton don't seem to like talking to customers.

Also way cheaper than MWS bolt ons

Here you go:

http://www.acww.com.au/catalog/index...ed8f019fe70352

I bought 16x7 FWD offset which have 26mm offset (MWS 16x7 Jag bolt ons like the ones Richard now has on his car are 22mm offset and fit nicely so I should be OK!)

They cost £1200 including shipping, 5x120 adaptors and tri ear spinners - so with VAT and duty probably £1500 all in.

MWS bolt on are £2k. Daytons came in at £1,840 before shipping even.

He has one set of 15x7's in FWD offset which equate to 23mm offset

The 15x6 work out at 16mm offset so sticking out another 6mmm - don't think they're a go-er

Don't even think about anything other than the FWD (Bead) offset!

Here's your car going to paint. Shut lines are our best work yet. Glad you decided on Matt black though!

And the rear. Notice the minimal filler. Its better to fill with fibreglass paste and then just a skim of filler, otherwise when the car gets in the hot sun of the summer the filler shrinks at a different coe-efficient of expansion to the GRP and sinks. Im sure you have all seen these tell-tale filler outlines on finished cars?

Looking at the front of the car there would seem to be enough room to leave the front crash beam in place if you werent going to lift the bonnet as this would solve a problem we have with our regulations in NZ. Can anyone comment on the clearance if it was left on
Thanks Steve

Hi Steve. You might be able to refit the crash beam on the SWB but the grille could not then be fitted and the front valance would certainly not clear as the front section was lifted up. Your best bet is the new 275 kit when its available later this year. Come and have a look when you are in the UK in October.

Indeed! Had exactly that on my old TVR - you could see an 'Island' of filler on one panel.

And I'm sure we compromised on satin black - I've already got a box of rattle cans!

Body prep looks superb - I know your guys and you have put a massive amount of work into this one - I'm very excited to see it painted!!

PS you forgot to fill the holes in the sill

If you can't make a positive contribution then keep your opinions to yourself. I just try and help where I can from my experience and everyone seems to appreciate it except you. Was it too technical for you? Brave man hiding behind a forum. Come and say this to my face....address is on the website.
