Glossing the rear arches to the inner wheel arches is well worth the effort. It stiffness the shell up and will prevent grazing in that area in the long term. I can nearly lift my car by the rear arches. Imagine if you got a bit stuck in a muddy bit and some rugby player came along and gave you a push.......

Tony - Did you have any issues with using fibre glass outside at this time of the year?

Was that one of your last "To Do" jobs before painting?

Good luck, Paul.

Hi, Paul no probs as it was quite mild here in the south coast, and more importantly dry, only problem was gravity!

Yes this is one of the last jobs before painting, bit of filling and sanding on the rear skirt where the original exhaust came through, then remove door cards and stuff and its off for paint.

Tony - I think your car would look spectacular in yellow.

( Not sure if I've seen a yellow Tribute yet. )

Obviously I loved my yellow Triumph motorcycle and it made my short list of Sammio colours too...

Good luck, Paul.

And yellow is the same colour as Justin Bieber's Lambo... not that he will be driving it for a while

Blue (dark and light) is the colour of Ferrari racing USA. John Surtees raced in these colours at Mexico in 1964.

Unhappy Progress

Build on hold at the moment trouble on the domestic front, not seen the car since April legal bills spiralling out of control I knew she hated the idea of a kit car but this is unbelievable, apparently building a kit is "controlling by remote coolness"

"Controlling by remote coolness"

That's a new one on me Tony!

Sorry to hear of your domestics, a lot of us can identify with that I think!

I hope things get sorted Tony and, whatever happens, it won't diminish the pleasure you get from the car you have spent so long building.

Amazing how spending half your life watching Eastenders and the other half spending £500 per week on clothes is normal, however having a hobby is paramount to devil worship.

Default Build

Hi, thanks, it was all done on my drive in Kent except the exhaust that was built in St Leonards, Sussex its was on the road minus paint but is now stuck in Kent while I am in Wales (due to marital situation). Biggest problem is weather don't think I would have got it done here in Wales as it rains most days, Machine Mart sell a portable garage but a cheaper option would be a large canvass frame tent I have one her in Wales but chose not to use it. Scottie is using a tent for his Jag and his build is worth following just for the entertainment his skills are impressive too. Tony.

Steve forgot to say the form is great we nick ideas off each other, e.g.. wiper recesses mouldings I made were Seanick's idea recessing the yellow badge was mine cant remember who else did that, anyway talking of Chris at tribute (not forgetting Dan) they are great at what they do, what are you wanting to build? If you use the MX 5 as a base its a good start watch out for sill rust its caused by lack of maintenance basically there are hood drains that just need poking out every now and then (Takes minuets to do) or water gets into the inner sill and rusts it, not the end of the world to weald up though. Tony
