Thanks Tony. The rear needed a bit of trimming but wasn't too bad. You're right about the front, think the Mk2 might be more complex than the Mk1.

Woo Hoo! Thanks eBay - a set of 15" Jag wire wires for nine tenths of sod all. Just need to get some suitable hub adapters and spacers to make them fit properly.

I had a similar eBay moment when the seller described his wheels as Astin wheels and didn't post a picture. I also needed adapters for my 5 bolt BMW hub. Dave at http://www.orsonequipment.co.uk/ was very patient describing all he measurements he needed and is now making me some bespoke adapters.

There are pictures here of my wheels. Do the hubs and splines look similar to yours?

Haven't got the wheels yet, but from the pictures on eBay they do look similar. Nice to know there is someone out there who can make adapters. Think I might need spacers as well as I have no idea what the offset of these wheels is. 15" diameter and 7" width should look suitable meaty on the car though.

Going to be a strange experience getting tyre with tubes. Luckily my son works in a garage so I shouldn't have a problem getting the right thing.

7" width is probably to the outside of the rims if they are like mine. That means 5.5" actual rim width for tyres.

Talking with a bloke who runs similar on his Healey and he recommends Avon 195s but says you can run 205s at a pinch.

The adapters bolt onto the existing hubs so act as a spacer anyway.

Okay, what's going on here? This is the rear panel extender fitted directly onto the inner bumper and it sits too low.

Something is not right somewhere with the alignment mayby its a MK 2 thing, you are entering pioneering terretory, as no body in the world is building a Tribute MX 250 C on a MK 2, and apart from Chris and his demo nobody has built a 250 C on a MK1! Chris has sold three of thers kits and the other one has not started, at least not on here. But hay we struggle on, as long as the rear is supported (mayby spacers?) and looks aligned to the body, it should be ok, mine looks like this.

Ignoring my rear end problems (Oooh, Matron!) first, very basic, dry fit on the front after much cutting, swearing, worrying and comments such as "Should have bought a Mk1" from my ever helpful wife.

Excuse the cockeyed bonnet, that will be pulled into place by the locking pins.

Much happier with the shape around the wheel arches.

Front looks fine, our German frends are the one's to ask about MK 2's but they are both hard tops and the rear is very diferent on the 250 C, ingnore the wife, what do they know, the car you are building is only car of its type in the world.

Cheers Tony, need all the encouragement I can get, although I didn't think I'd get the front end to a point where it looked half decent and it's nearly there so I'm sure the back will be a soluble.

Hi, I am building a mk1 mx250C and my front end should be on by the end of this week . I had a little trouble with the rear but nothing as bad as that . Mostly getting the boot to sit straight was my nightmare . Keep go

Does yours have the aston style front? if so we are all unique in what we are up to, MK 1, MK 2 we are but three as far as I know.

Normal front like yours . Having trouble to get it to sit right though!!! Mines got side vents and scoops on the bonnet plus high back bucket seats . Hopefully will be at the BBQ

Decided to use the rear lights I got from a local scrap yard. Think vertical rather than horizontal looks better.

Just watch out that they meet the legal requirements, this westfield sva guide is useful http://westfield-world.com/svalights_rear.html

have you considered the rear lights from an old BMW 2002?
these 1's are a bit pricey but you get the idea....

I like the horizontal version but a little bit closer to the side

Horizontal does fill space better.

last pic definitely looks best to me, horizontal and nearer the side. presumably separate fog and reversing light mounted below bumper (thats if fogs not incorporated into those main units)?
