THANKS GUYS ....The car was a little raw at the show , exposed filler and workings kept it 'real' !!

Heres some pics of the clamshell on....we have fitted bracing for hinge mounts and a brace on the front edge to stiffen the clamshell enough to be able to open and shut easily from one side....Screen also in place.

GOT A BIT FURTHER WITH THIS ONE THE LAST FEW DAYS....

I have mounted the spare wheel above the gearbox in a similar but not quite such a jaunty angle way to the original.
I used one of my wheel adaptors to mount the spare...

Also managed to get the gauges in and the headlight switch...

Also started creating the front 'trunk' or 'boot' area ....making it from 12mm ply which will be sikkoflexed in and then all joints glassed , a skim of glass over the whole lot and then smooth gel'd..can't take this too much further until next week when the custom built Ally fuel tank arrives - cap will go through bonnet as per the originals...

Default Another nice car, Gary.

I like all the bits you're making for it, like the sills with cut outs. Where do you get this sort of thing done and do you just supply a drawing?

I just get the local fab. shop to fold stuff to my measurements and cut holes in them !
Any reasonable shop can do this - prices will vary.

I can supply measurements for specifics but generally each job will be different...

Incidentally , we can mould that Porsche dash seperately .......it will need a bit of tweaking and grafting but could look quite cool in a Sammio Spyder .....

DID SOME MORE WORK ON THE 550 TODAY- GLASSING IN THE FRONT STRUCTURE...

THIS AREA HAS GAINED INCREDIBLE STRENGTH NOW AND WHEN THE INNER ARCHES ARE TIED IN AND FUEL TANK BRACING IN PLACE WILL BE SUPER STRONG !
