Well, it would give Gary something to do while he is not doing the Spyders, the wide bodies for the USA, the G46, the TVR based G46, the Spitfire version of the Spyder, finishing of the 550 stuff and generally running the business.

Thinking about it Gary, could you do world peace and an end to hunger in the evenings? ;-)

Not a bad idea for a donor, subject to the practicality of rebodying the MG. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a monocoque?

Anywho, I'm sure Mike could mock up a Sammio Stratos in a matter of months while Gary's busy sorting out the world economic crisis...

The same goes for the old MR2's, they can be bought for cheap-as-chips money and it always amazes me that not more people are using them for kit cars.

Directly before i started the Sammio was going down the Lamborghini route and i ended up disassembling and modifying a MK2 MR2 to try and fit the Mirage Countach body shell. But that came to an abrupt end when i started figuring out how much it would cost to finish (Lambo parts ain't cheap!) and the wife found out!

I did put in my post(but deleted it) much the same r.e. Gary being busy
.Just an idea of future donors!but being a monocoque with subframes,
could the main tub be left and front and rear ends grafted on.
Btw love the stratosyou got a design degree lol

Dont be scared of monocoques as long as you leave the structure alone and rebody over it it will be fine.
The MR2 ferraris have been doing this for years and i built a MGF based car before this - a rare beast a Blaze

Unbolt the front wings - fit fibreglass flip front - add fibreglass panels to the sides and rear arches - blend and paint.

I know it sounds a lot like the roadster build

How about this?

Get a locost chassis (Lotus 7 rip off) and get Gary to put this body on it:

Although I expect Gary could get a slightly smoother finish on the rear.

Not quite that simple WCA, but I wish it was. Was looking into something very similar myself a couple of years ago.
The main problem with the Locost chassis is the bit just behind the drivers shoulder, it's very slab sided(verticle) were as thats very rounded.
But very pretty concept. And I hope someone does it.
