Default Wheel options for Ford-based Spartan

Hello all - just joined. Nice to meet you all......My first question is concerning roadwheels (as above)... I have 13" steels on 1990-build Spartan with a wire wheel trim missing & with cracking between the treads on the front, offside tyre so it seems opportune to try & replace the wheels/tyres....hopefully together as one. Have found myself looking at Sierra alloys but have no idea what others have fitted? 4x108 seems a popular PCD but no idea about ideal ET offset etc? Any help/advice gratefully received.........solution must be cheap as poverty stricken!...

First thing to do is look at the wheels you have and work out here sizes .. they should have the measurements stamped on them

Lot of Sierra wheels are 14/15” I think

Ebay is the way forward for a cheap set of wheels with tyres.

Most of the rear wheel drive Fords will have roughly the right off sets, you can adapt a little with spacers or shims.

I would think most wheel options from Escort Mk1 - 2, Cortina Mk1-5, Capri Mk 1 - 3 and Sierra. Standard sizes will be 13" 14" and 15" diameters and from 4 1/2" to 7" width.

There are lots of after market options too. You can buy a set of knock on wires in 14" or 15" for around £100 often with ok tyres. A set of adaptors for a similar amount.

Lots of options

I'm led to believe that popular Peugeot wheels are the same PCD as old Fords (but different less? offset), maybe worth a look also. Most of the FWD Fords will be the wrong offset for a RWD car (and Peugeot also I presume)
