Default What's your 'Sensible' car...

...You know, your 'daily driver' ?

Up until last week, mine was Saab 93 2.0 Vector Convertible. But after a catalogue of recalls, niggles and crap customer care, we part ex'd it for Kitty:

Be warned - these links go to LARGE piccies!

Kitty on the drive, head on
Kitty from the side
Kitty's other side
The helm

Kitty is a 2005 S-Type 2.7 V6 Diesel Sport, and she goes like stink - without costing the earth to run. Still getting used to an auto box though... I still try and stab the clutch and downshift for corners.

Ok, someone tell me I'm not the only one that hasn't got a shiny new car as a runaround.

making do with a battered Ford Transit in Pikey blue

1.8 Mondeo Estate - great for the kids (age 1 and 4) and long hols in france - could do with a little more poke though. Have been offered 2 ex company cars, 53 plate Mazda 6 2.0D £6500and 53 Volvo v70 2.5T awd £12500....
I know which I'd like but thems is kit car funds!!

I'm gonna come out of the closet now and confess......

Just purchased a car for work as it involves a fare bit of running around....Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI. Having taken the p iss out of my dad for having a Skoda for the last few years I finally came round to the fact that they are actually good value for money and well put together.

2000 W reg GLX with aircon, leccy windows etc 11 months road tax, 12 months MOT, VW Turbo diesel for £1700, does 48mpg whereas my old Vectra did about 28. Can now make some bunce out of my mileage claim

RX7 has now gone, Transit going soon as well.

Itching to do another kit but must get the extension finished first to win some brownie points with the missus
