Nice, did you buy that or already own it on another car? Can I be cheeky and ask how much it was?

You had a good deal there. Think I'll do the same.

I bought a one owner Morris minor in about 1998 that was issued with that number from new. I paid £500 for the car, did some welding for the MOT and used it from time to time. My daughters used sit very low in the back when we went anywhere in it as a family so as not to be seen. When they got older refusing to go out in it. I then reluctantly sold it, retaining the number which has been worn by four or five cars since. I recently put it on retention when we changed my wife's car ready for my build when I can get to it. I don't think I lost much on the Minor so it cost me next to nothing. How lucky was that!!!

Check out rods and sods if you want a cheap Herald. I saw one for £650 a couple of days ago, just before the gearbox on my ML lunched itself and took all spare cash

New gearbox for an ML? I'd have spent the cash on another house and had the holiday of a lifetime with the change.

Last time I had a Merc I found that the service manager carried a pair of pistols and wore a rather fetching tricorn hat and mask. Every invoice was handed over with a cheery 'Stand and deliver!'

That's quite a contrast to the Nissan dealer I go to now - yesterday the service manager actually bowed and was very apologetic when he passed me the bill for parts of...

MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!

From £52 plus transfer fee : http://www.plates4less.co.uk/irish-n...?orderBy=price

I am sure there are other sites too, that was just the first I Googled

*Yes, I know the Irish specific letters give it away to those in the know. Irish number plates always contain the letters I or Z.

**The show plat was only while I was parked and I refitted the correct plate before I left

I liked the look and modest cost of your new plates to the extent that my forthcoming 250swb will be MIG1807.
Could this be the start of the Tribute Automotive 'MIG' club.

Bob.
