Question Thread for the seat belts

Guys,

Congratulations for those who can fire up there engine and those who can drive. Thanks for youtube -movie too ! Gives me the thrill to start working as soon as I have a day off.

-> who can tell what specs the threads have to position the bolts of the seatbelts to?

At the back I ordered a seatbelt ring from Marlin, but it's not clear what size it has. There is powdercoating in all so I have to clear the thread with a tap.
Costs me 20 pounds at Marlin's which is not needed if I know what thread it is. (have lots of tap's on my work)
Also for the sides.

In europaspares and stuff like (Timm's autoteile) that I see 7/16 UNF.
Is that correct for all threads???

The Securon web site ( http://www.securon.co.uk/ ) has lots of useful info about seatbelts. It confirms that the thread size is 7/16 UNF.

Cheers

On the subject of seat belts. Has anyone ever fitted 3-Point seat belts?
I've had some bosses made and welded them through the roll bar. These are threaded 7/16 UNF and headed so that I not just relying on the weld. I used a set of belts from a Toyota.
I'm using a pair MX5 seats but because the recliner mech sticks out. I've fitted the driver's seat on the passenger side and vice versa.
That means that the seat belt mounts fitted to the seats are on the wrong side and therefore useless.
