Default Throttle cable

Hi all,

I'm trying to source a replacement throttle cable for my car, and although I've found numerous well priced 3m cables, these are too short.

CBS sell one which I think is long enough, but the it's the best part of £30 (+vat) for a pretty cheaply made product, so that's a last resort.

Any suggestions, welcomed.

Cheers,

John.

Try VWP here:

You can just buy the bits and build one the length you want

I sent my old one to speedy cables with the dimensions of the inter and outer sizes.

Just noticed this post. if you still need a cable then go to Venhill cables, they are brilliant. They make a universal kit which is more than long enough for a 5exi. The cable is very high quality with a teflon ( ptfe ) liner which gives a very light throttle with no sticking or kangaroo petrol. the cable supplied with the kit is very poor quality in comparison to this one.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did buy some cable from vehicle wiring products, and it worked fine initially.... but is already starting to get sticky, so will give the Venhill option a try.

you will not be dissapointed. when i first drove car with the Marlin cable i thought i was going to have to sell the car on, it was so bad despite giving it as smooth a run as possible. the venhill cable transformed the car.
