Default mot blues

no its not the title of a song, i was wondering how many of you have booked up and taken your car to a mot testing station to be told sorry we cant test it
this happened to me recently, and it was not anything to do with the condition of my car the reason: it would not fit on the hoist type of machine this garage uses, i have a charger, which has a long nose, and because of the overhang fouls the ramp mot stations that have the pit type of inspection are ok, it might be worth remembering that if your car is low, or like mine the wheels are set back from the bumper, you might have to ask if they use a pit, or hoist before you book, thats what i had to do,
mine failed, on brake discs, one was pitted, and a couple of minor bits which for a 41 year old car cant be bad but at least i know that i will be on the road very soon ( as soon as i get the parts through)
