Default Time has finally got the better of me...

… and it's looking increasingly likely I'm never going to get around to finishing the spyder, and I've lost the passion for various reasons. The question is, how much is it worth as it is?

The entire mechanical workings of the car have been sorted, and I have I think every single receipt for all of the parts, and it's a really big pile of receipts! If anything needed replacing it was, and with either brand new or fully (professionally) refurbished parts.

What's left to put into it? Time mostly, but very little money. I've went over the bodywork up to primer, with absolutely no pin holes or blemishes. I've put in a cubby box behind the seats and a 'boot'.
So, it'll need a little glassing done at the front of the sills, the boot locking mechanism worked out and everything I have fitted.

When I say everything I have, I mean that literally barring I think three items. I have everything needed to complete the car other than seat trim, seatbelts and paint. Every part, light, fitting, carpet, seat, dial, knob, button, bolt and extra is there. And some additional stuff like a shiny new s/s handbrake etc. The only thing I’m a bit worried about is a weep from the diff front seal. I’d do it if I had time.

So… it’s the age old problem.. I’ve poured thousands of pounds into it, I’ve fallen out with it, I just don't get any spare time, and I’m realistic enough to know I’m going to lose money… so I have a choice. Sell it as it is, or break it up and sell the parts.. But the million dollar question, how much??

I was thinking around the £2.5-£3k mark, is this realistic?? It's a completely refurb'd 13/60, correctly registered as a Sammio, with the body etc fitted.

Engine Bay
13/60 Herald with 80k miles as a starting point
Refurbished head (Unleaded), new valves, stems, springs, rockers etc
Ally adaptor plate
New flywheel and clutch
Ally distributor
New water pump
Ally radiator with silicone hoses
Ally header tank
Alternator
All new seals thoughout
Lucas Gold coil and silicone leads
Twin SU carbs
S/S Sports system with custom Cherry Bomb twin pipes
New clutch slave and master cylinders and pipes

Brakes
Brand new callipers and discs,
New rear drums on refurbished driveshafts (Canley)
New brake pipes and master cylinder

Suspension
New swing spring rear
Gaz adjustable shocks
Lowered front springs

Chassis
Stripped, no major rust to start with (although it had new outriggers at some point)
FE123 coated and painted
Internally rust proofed with more FE123
Rear outriggers modified to suit body

Other stuff
Body fitted and bonded
Cubby box behind the seats and a ‘boot’
MGF Steel wheels with new tyres (plus the original wheels and tyres)
Dax cobra seats (need covering)
All dials refurbished
Motolita style steering wheel on refurbished steering column
Stainless handbrake with new cables etc
All lights
New universal joints on the drive

Left to do:
Get seat coverings and fitted
Paint (already in primer with all pinholes, blemishes and cracks removed)
Fit the carpet (Black carpet available)
Tidy up around the front bulkhead/sill junction
Fit all fastenings for bonnet and bootlid
Fit seatbelts
Fit all of the parts I have floating around the garage

Parts to buy:
Seat covers
Seatbelts
Paint

Oh.. and I did pay for a set of lowered floor pans at Stonleigh... which I'm still waiting on.....

Edit: knew I'd forget stuff! New uprated anti-roll bar, full polybush kit, electricfan etc

Default Mixed bag....

Took a few today, plus some more from way back when. I'll add whatever others I can find to the album.

Yeah... I had every good intention of doing a blog, but I ended up forgetting most of the time.

I think some one with a bit of time could have it complete in a few weeks. Most of the paint prep is done, and it's just fitting stuff...

Can't wait to see, the dash looks very neat. What sort of interior? All leather or ally...

I guess that'll be up to the new owner... The holes round the dials are for an ally panel to be fitted (which I have).

Took me ages to get the curve of the dash right.

I'll be putting up on fleabay in the next couple of days I recon... I've made my mind up so it's now going

As I said before, all someone needs to buy is paint, seat covers and seatbelts. I have everything else

Im sure that the new owner will be pleased, looks like you had done all of the hard work to a good standard. I was tempted myself but really need to sell some cars, not buy more.
