Two items for today:

1. Big kudos to Chris for sending me a pair of "A" pillar parts.

2. Spent 4 hours making an Ess shaped tube for the filler issue.
Segmented a "U" bend and a 45 deg. bend and welded up.
Off for powder coating inside and out. Perfect fit and great angle to the Z3 fill tube. Widened Tributes recess cup and works a treat. Photos upon installation.

The pipe is the easy part, getting a good fixing to the existing pipe is the tricky bit!

Not bad at all. Found an adapter (steel) that is .5mm smaller than the Z3 fill tube. Nice fit with some fuel proof seals all adhesive.

Using a small section of fuel hose on the cap end. I'll post a few pics when it returns from powder coating.

Default Reducers

I've had a number of custom size bends and reducers made by Jeff Webb at pipe_werx (found on eBay).
Generally based on 1mm wall stainless for exhausts. 500mm lengths for <£20.

Purchased similar. A single mandrel bent shape of 2 inch tubing, combining a "U" bend and a 45 deg. bend
That, plus the reducer was all I needed.
Plotted the segments needed and cut the tubing, welded together. Looks like it will work a treat.
Fits both the Z3 fill tube and the large flip top cobra style cap.

Molleur – After seeing the photo with the huge hole for the filler cap I went back and re-read this.

So, your friends decided to build your car, without your knowledge, and then really messed it up?

With friends like these, who needs enemies?

I know I may a LOT of mistakes during my build, but at least they were mine.

I hope you are able to get everything back to the way you wanted it.

Good luck Paul.

Thanks Paul, it is coming along nicely now. Lots of rework remains.
Chris is sending me a pair of "A" pillar trims to replace the
miss-aligned, bonded parts. Will be fun to get those off!

Work onthe 250 has slowed quite a bit. 39 degrees C in my garage all week!
Florida is nice, but much too hot to be grinding fiberglass!

small update. Grandson and family have moved in to my house, lots of room but not quite organized yet.

Managed to get the 250 SWB window frames powder coated chrome.
Excellent results. I'll try to post up a pic later.

You have my commiserations, I've just got rid of 2 kids, just one to go.
Then I can spend their inheritance on cars, what can I buy for £25?

Embarrassing question.

Does anyone have a pic of the 250 SWB door window frame install?
Hate to have to cut the bonded door skins again. (help from my friends).

Maybe it was included in the Richard Bird build articles on one of the kitcar mags? Anyone?
