Default My Jeffrey JS5 pocket rocket,

Hello, New boy here.

Here is my Jeffrey JS5 kitcar. Built back in 1973 and still going strong. it has a 1.6 Ford pre cross flow engine fitted. Its narrower than my classic mini's i also own!
Ive had this for the past 5 months and i nearly have it ready for the road again. it needed some major rewiring and some oil seals replacing.
Still need to free off the front brakes and then he needs a major tune up.
I (we) call him Jeff for obvious reasons.
The pictures below shows you before i picked it up and after ive done some bits and bobs to him.
Can’t find much info about them apart this one web site called www.jeffreykitcar.co.uk/MarqueHistory/
ive tried making contact with the owners of the site but had no luck.
But by a stroke of luck I did find my car in there gallery 7th one up from the bottom. this was taken back in 1998 at the Newark kitcar show, so the last owner tells me. He was surprised to see it on that site too.
The last owner was the second owner to have the car and spent many years looking for information on this car but had no luck, what he did find out was that there was only 37 JS5's Kits made and looking at my vin plate mines the 3rd one ever made.
Anyway, enough of me talking on, here below is some information and some pics of him.
Comments and thoughts all welcome as im pretty new to the kitcar world, im more into my classic cars. TILL NOW!

Note: The Jeff J4 was made first then they moved onto the JS5 before ending.
www.jeffreykitcar.co.uk/Gallery/ Take time to ready the paper cut outs in here, quite funny when they are talking about costs, you dont relise how much this have moved on,

Hi Marksmini and welcome to the forum.

Apologies for not authorising the pictures sooner - completely overlooked it

Looks like it is still in pretty good nick and a rare beast too.

Have got the Jeffrey J4 on classic-kitcars.com

http://www.classic-kitcars.com/43/43picgallery.htm

There's also a pic of a J5 on there too. I will split this off at some point and add your car too if it's ok?

Don't know a great deal about them other than whats on classic-kitcars.

Cheers, John
