Hi Simon,

Great to see more photos of your build as active Cordite threads are a bit thin on the ground.

As always it is a big help to get advanced warning of problems that lie ahead.

This photo got me thinking...

I knew Andy has fitted a steering wheel and went back to check his build.

This photo seems to show a "kink" in his framework...

My frame is the same as yours, a "straight down" frame section.
I can see no mention of a change being made on this build thread.
Also other photos showing his frame being initially fitted look to have this kink in it.

So maybe the design was modified (in the same way my dash rail is different to yours)?

Andy is off on holiday now for a couple of weeks, we can check with him on his return.

Good luck with the house move, take care, Paul.

Thanks Paul, might go with the kink as well.

Another broken leg? At this rate maybe sammios best selling kit would be one that can fit on a mobility scooter!

Hope that it heals quick.

So do you get a "broken foot" if you're late paying Gaz/Andy?

Smile Remember me???

Hello everyone, been a busy year in which I have....

1) Broken my leg / mashed my ankle
2) Moved house
3) built a garage.
4) built an extension to house as above
5) remained near the top of the ever increasing list of 'just' jobs from SHMBO
6) Not touched the car (except to move to new house).

Despite having three bay garage (yes i know, i can't wait), there is so much stuff in it that i can't actually get the car inside!

But I'll be back....

Jokes aside, it would be great to see your build back up and running.

If you ever get a chance to show us how you got on with the door fitting that would be good too.

Cheers, Paul.

PS
I've just written a big reply for you on my own build thread.

Default A very difficult time

OK this is not easy, so bear with me. On 17th December, my wife was killed in a car accident which has obviously left me devastated. Anyone who has read my last post will realise we were going through a huge time of change in any case but I now have a fantastic house needing work, two lovely kids coming to terms with the death of their mother AND being in the car at the time.

Having posted before Christmas that after a year long break I hoped to start work on the car, this is not going to happen. And I can't bear to keep looking at the car as it currently is, so I've decided to put it up for sale so I can concentrate on things I can can do with my children.

I'd like the car to get finished and go to someone who will appreciate it (and maybe let me have a ride when it's done). Money is not really the issue but obviously i'd like to get something back for what I've put in.

So if there are any 'lurkers' out there who'd like to take it on, please PM me, otherwise it's going on ebay. This thread will give you an idea of what has been done and i will post some pics if I can remember how to do it.

Many thanks, Simon

Simon - I am simply stunned by your news and can barely think what to write.

You have my heart felt sympathies and condolences.

This year's "Children In Need" featured a charity that helps children find ways of coping with loss of a parent.

My younger brother died when I was 15 and back then you were just left to get on with it by yourself.

Personally, I think it would have been a big help to talk to a professional all those year ago, as death was (& still is) a taboo subject for many.

Make sure you take some time to look after yourself too.

If ever you think a big weekend of manual labour will help you make progress on the house, just let us know.

I'd be happy to travel and muck in and I'm sure many others on here would too.

Take care, Paul.

I am so sorry to hear about your wife Simon. I hope with all my heart that you and the rest of the family are ok and my thoughts are with you all. As (I hope with everyone else on this forum) can understand fully why you would not continue the project and respect that fully.

You have my deepest sympathy, Simon. I can't imagine what you and your family must be going through at this time.

I'm not usually lost for words but in this case I feel there's nothing I can say that would help except be strong for your children, but don't be afraid to grieve for the tragic loss of your wife.

My thoughts are with you.

David.
