Thought it was about time we had a 7 build area as it could attract new blood into the forum.

You lot are a bloomin helpful bunch when it comes to build matters so I think the more builders we can attract can only be a good thing for everyone. More often than not it doesn't matter what car you are building you can always pick up some good hints and tips from people that are doing it, been there or done it.

So if you are building a 7 style kit please don't be shy, post your question here. If you are able to help please do so. If you can champion the new forum to give it a kick start then please do so, start threads, answer questions let other people know about the forum via clubs, meets, forums etc etc.

Will probably start up a GTM Libra build forum as well if anyones up for it.

Cheers, John

I'm not sure that's quite likely to be the winner the 5 Exi build area is, John. Libras (and their rather inferior Spyder cousin) are extremely well catered for on the Team GTM forum. Yes it costs money, but it's supremely good.

Equally, Locostbuilders caters fot '7' people.

That said, I'd answer any Libra stuff anyone wanted to know.

I understand what you mean Ferg but I work on the principle that some people shop at Tesco some shop at Sainsburys and some have no allegiance at all so it's worth a go at least if there's a chance of improving the forum.

Cheers, John

Would this include the Mongoose?.......not really a `7` though......perhaps it should have its own area?

I have to say I like the look of the Mongoose, the latest KitCar magazine has a write up on it with more pics. Not totally anomored (sp?) by the bodywork but the overall design looks very purposeful.

With Italo's design on the other thread I think Onyx could be onto something.

Kartman, do you know how many are currently being built? I can set up a build area for it but concerned you may be talking to yourself if you are the only builder at present.....

John

....and do I know how that feels.....!!!

Will have to speak to David about numbers, but I know other kits have gone out already.

Mine has the fibreglass back end as I preferred it to the aluminium one for the same reasons as you. I will dust of my old Dart Cars skills to come up with something for the scuttle, but not sure how close I can get to Italo's designs.

I tend to be a lurker more than a poster, maybe I should change that....

I always thought of joining the site mentioned above but It appears to have gone downhill recently, and it has a distinct core "clique" that is damaging to the real users.

This section needs a few knowledgeable people to steer it onwards..

Agree with you......but who would do this ?........I think it caters to a few groups with their builds, but most posters are not that interested in general chats........they are just very focused on their own builds.....

Its a Locostbuilders site, for Marlin and Phantom owners.......great kits, but a closed community....not much of an interaction, if you're not building a kit.......I guess I need a Kit...

A pity really......

Thumbs up champions !!!

Your quite right about this site, It in a broader sense requires someone with an in depth knowledge of the motor vehicle (not just a kit car) to help steer this section on an upward path.

I am more than willing to help out anyone, as a ex motor mechanic & a fabricator with a pet like of leaning towards vehicle wiring.

I would by no means think i am an expert but I can certainly give anything a good look and assistance.

not a question as such more a blowing my own trumpet

As you know I have taken the plunge and bought a vindicator sprint family and just wanted peoples feedback on the slowish progress on the car and also any comments on the website which i will pass on to the wife.

www.laws.vindi.googlepages.com

The progress has been slow as there have been certain technical issues to overcome
