Lightbulb For Sale: E30 325i se (Potential Donor)

My friend is selling his e30; here's his ad:

My 1988 (e30) 325ise recently failed its MOT on a number of items. It has done 143k miles and is mechanically in very good condition but the number of failures have led me to deem it uneconomical to repair. Additionally, it was involved in a very minor non-fault collision which caused some cosmetic damage to the near-side front wing, bonnet and headlight. However, the third party's insurance company estimated the repairs to be more than the Glass's value of the vehicle so it will be declared a category C "write-off" (the final outcome of their investigation is pending, but should be completed imminently).

The MOT failure areas were:
  1. headlamp alignment
  2. brake light switch
  3. rust (seat belt anchorage, front sub-frame, front nearside jacking point, brake pipes, off-side sill)
  4. exhaust pipe leak

The engine was rebuilt in June last year after a thermostat failure caused mild-overheating and head gasket failure. The head was cleaned and skimmed (as a precaution) before being rebuilt with a lot of new parts. Subsequently (as before the failure), it has run without fault and 100% reliably. The emissions recorded during the MOT were CO: 2.93% vol and HC: 374ppm vol (idle speed & smoke level were fine as well).

The car is as it was when it was driven from the test centre, so can be seen running.

At this stage I'd prefer the vehicle to be sold as a whole but I'll be looking for quite a strong price (given the excellent condition of the majority of it I think I could get towards £350 for the parts alone on eBay). However, I will break it if I don't get much interest.
