Default Spyder Silverstone

My husband recently purchased a Spyder Silverstone here in the US - we are searching for other owners and information such as how to find an assembly manuel. Please feel free to contact us. It is SUCH a great car! Thanks

Hi, I have a Spyder Silverstone and just in the final stages of a one and a half year rebuild. I only know of one other one in existence so now there are 3! I believe there were only 26 made between 1985 and 1987 and a number of these were exported to various parts of the globe.
No chance of an assembly manual though but I have a copy of some of the old Kit car mags with articles relating to the Silverstone if you are interested.

Hi Spydernut:
Thanks for the response to my inquiry. Yes I would be interested in copies of old articles on the Spyder. I have not had much success locating information on the car and this has been frustating. However, when I have an opportunity to drive the car, it makes up for the lack of information. You indicated that you knew of one other owner, does the other owner possibly have additional information on the car. Also do you have any pictures of your car that you could send to me?

Best regards,

Charles

Hi Charles, I own the car that spydernut refers to. Chassis #12. I have the original detailed receipts from Spyder Engineering but no build manual. Original cost was nearly £9000!! WOW !!
I purchased it just over 2 years ago as a non runner. It was originally fitted with a 1600 Toyota Twincam but now has a 2 litre 16V Celica engine. It retains it's T50 gearbox.

Depending on who you talk to there were between 23 and 32 cars built. There can't be many left. Aren't we lucky??
I've seen hundreds of sevens and none are better engineered. Few come close.
I've got some magazine articles.Send your email address and details of your car.And some pics.
