I had an unexpected visit today from none other than "Froggyman"

He happened to be passing my house, and looked backwards up the driveway and saw my little VW Van.

We had a good chat, and he was able to see and hear my XKSS, and seemed impressed.

He wants to build one, but in D Type form, which ought to be a bit easier than going the windscreen route!

Went out for a little drive in the country today, and did a "Towed"
which means I took a pic of the car in a car park, the first one ever for this car!
It does look a bit small compared to an average size "normal" box.

All proper race cars are smaller than you would think.... ever stood next to an f1 car? They look like kids toys.

Today an old ex-army friend had his first look at my car.
He is a wee bit older than me, and was the British National Sky-diving champion when I just started jumping, and was always (then) my hero. I later joined the same regiment that he was in.

He took some pictures of the car then looked inside and said "oh I knew him", I replied "who?" He said "Willans", the name on your seatbelts, we used to call him Dumbo and he worked at G.Q. parachutes in those days, and I replaced him as the test jumper" "He left G.Q. and started up a safety harness company"

The rest as they say is history, what a small world..........

Hi Scottie, thanks for showing me your lovely XKSS last week. I hope you can get out and about to shows and things for enthusiasts to see it as it is a true work of art. The attention to detail is incredible. It sounds great too. It was good to meet you after following your daily updates during the build, I just hope you didn't think me cheeky just popping in. Our son had a great week at 'Morgan Cars' and we are back in rainy Devon.

I have said it before, but the words are forever valid,
the difference between a basic kit-car and a work of art as you put it, is very simply,

attention to detail. It does take longer of course, but so well worth it.
