Finally got my act together - www.b,wsportster.co.uk has my latest pix and a video clip - not much but I'm not building it so I can only get a few chances to take the pix!

Ta! Was hoping for a bit more of a fruity burble from the exhaust but hey for a 100000 miler thats been sat idle for nearly 2 years I'm impressed at how easily it started and how clean it appears to run - no smoke from anywhere!

It sounds so smooth compared to the M20 (its quite a tappy engine!)

Our engine fired up first time we cranked it too, says a lot about BMW build quality

Congrats Andy on start up,what a great sound.I am using the same engine andy but ecu has gone walkabouts.Could you post the bmw number and bosch number of yours? What year is your engine? Is it a vanos or non vanos, and do you have a copy of the pin data of the ecu? Cheers, Jeremy.

I've got a bunch of BMW disks with PDF's on the cover various wiring. If you can tell me the year/donor I should be able to find a wiring diagram for the whole car (If I can find the CD's that is!)

Mines a 94 325 E36 M50Vanos - I haven't got the ECU details and I can't easily check as the cars about 15 miles away!! I have asked John but as he's got one of his boys building the car I can't guarantee a quick response. I'm not going to be over there for a few weekends...

They sent the ECU off for decoding and got a specialist in to sort it so I don't think they have but John says he's happy to take care of anyone elses ECU if they want help. let me know and I'll pass on his number.

No problem If they need it for any of the rest of the car the whole things on there, but I expect the expert will have access to that kinda thing anyway
