Hi Neil
After splitting I put a fibreglass panel across to act to divert water, carry the engine latches , and also the luggage hinges.
On the engine side it also has the cabling which is threaded through brake pipe fibreglassed to it

What interesting differences in wheel base! Perhaps a small difference could be attributable to inaccuracies while measuring, such as not having the steering wheel dead ahead. But these are big differences! The original moulds from which nearly all (except maybe CASCU's) derive were taken off the 206GT and then David had the wheel arches moved back a bit to match the Lotus Europa Chassis he was bonding the body to. That gives 3 different possibilities: Europa/206GT/246GT. The Europa at 7'7" (2311.4mm); the 206GT's 2280mm (89.76" - 7' 5 3/4") or the 246GT's 2340mm (92.12" - 7'8.12").
Cheers
Ross

Hi Ian
I have a Dino book by Anthony Curtis which confirms the figures Ross quoted, as does this http://www.carfolio.com/specificatio...car/?car=37070 website.

It's a DeHaviland . This was built by Dehavilland, and was their first car. They've made a few build improvements since then, but it really is a good looking replica, and goes really well.

Hi Ian
Looking at the height of the door sills in the video I would say it's a Classic Replicas kit.
Looks to be way overpriced at £47k, IMHO if the garage paid half of that for it they were robbed!

Yes, one of my mates has a Classic Replicas Dino which is done as a replica of the number 46 car, the only 246 Dino to compete in the Le Mans 24 hrs (1972).

Last year I bought a part complete Classic Replicas car from a guy on this forum, I am busy sourcing the missing parts I need so hopefully there will be another one on the road eventually.

Complete Kit car featured a Classic Replicas Dino in their March 2008 issue. This car was on the road but its last MOT expired in Feb 2010 so I don't know what happened to it.

Other than these and the £47k car I don't know of any others, does anyone have any more information?

I too saw the £47k Dino rep ad on Ebay. Defo seems overpriced. What would you guys expect it to go for?

If you look on H&H auction Duxford 20/4/16 it sold with a hammer price of £33900.
I am sure it was unsold in a previous h&H auction .
I bet it took more than the hammer price to build, and possibly could have had a build cost circa £47k :--- depending on many factors.
Indeed how does one value such cars?

Default 47k dino

Hi all
Deon in they heyday offered turnkey cars from 33k with one reportedly sold for 35k! and we are talking 20 years ago too! What's that in today's money?
I guess you pays your money and you take your choice. I mean gt40 and cobra replica's change hands around 40>50k with ultima's going for well above this.
I've even seen repro escort MK1's going for more than the originals!

NeilF355, your post appealed to my SoH, given the problems people here have had with Classic Replicas in the past - bought a complete CR car and am now sourcing missing parts... No offence, just made me smile. C

None taken, it was meant to add a little levity, a sense of humour is a must when building kit cars!

The good news is that I have managed to obtain two of the three missing body panels and have found a guy who is making me the third.

So all I need now is glass, seats, instruments etc.
