Talking of watches, the two lesbians that live next door, bought me a Rolex for my birthday.

I think they mis-undertood me, as When they asked me what I wanted, I said " I want to watch"

Getting things to fit right seems to be so time consuming, and at the stage I am,
the windows have to fit correctly with the windscreen.

Because the body shell is five inches narrower than a "real" XKSS, neither the windscreen or the windows would fit, even if I was given a set, so I had no choice but to make my own, which has proved difficult at times.

Eventually, I will get there, but right now progress seems painfully slow, so much so, that it it starting to piss me off a lot!

But, I will persevere, and it is slowly coming together how I want it to.

Can you get some soft rubber or silicon to fix on the back of the quarter light, soft enough to squidges when shut but enough to fill the crack?

Not sure what rubber you would use, perhaps the ladies next door know about shoving rubber to fill cracks?

Well, although I had put in a reasonable amount of work, it didn't look like it, so I was overcome with guilt. I went back out and toiled more.

I cut out the passengers window, re-fettled the passengers quarterlight, and cleaned up both quarter light edges, starting with 220 grit and ending with 600 grit as per instructions.

The guilt buggered off, so I packed it in immediately!

Oh! I forgot to add that it is possible to polish up the lexan edges even better if you apply methylene chloride to them, which gives an instant shine.

The downside is that methylene chloride is a suspect carcinogen.

When googled, it turns out that it may cause cancer to living cells.

Mmmm! Perhaps not.

Well, I had to visit the dentist again today, but after that, I set about getting material for my rear bumpers.

A friend of mine managed to get hold of a set of steps for a swimming pool, they were in, (you guessed it!) Stainless steel. He wanted them for an exhaust system I think.

This was two or three months ago, Since then, I have been waging a relentless psy-ops war against him, (Psychological warfare) but he would not part with the pipes.

I was quite good at psy-ops in the military, so I intensified my efforts, and
BINGO! Today he cracked, and let me have my evil way with the pipes!

I whizzed round to the garage and lopped off the needed bits before he even finished his coffee, so now I have my bumpers all catered for at last.

Well, I like doing the bumpers, so I spent the rest of the day doing exactly that.

I now have four reasonable looking shiny bumpers which now need the bolts fixing to them, then some holes in the body-work, and I'll bolt them on to check what they look like.

Paul, I always do!

When I saw the wood burner chimney I knew it would look good on my car as a heat shield!

I am dreading welding the bolts to the bumpers in case I blow them through!!

Might glue the bolts on with something else yet.

Why dont you weld the bolts to a bit if thin flat and sikaflex or tiger seal them inside the curves, much safer.

Hey Peeps, do you reckon sikaflex will adhere to stainless steel?

The stainless is very "slimy" due to the chrome content, and I was wondering if sikaflex or indeed any other epoxy adhesive would stick?

Obviously, I would really rough up the steel first to give it a good chance of sticking well.
Your comments would be most welcome, or anyone else that may have more experience of stainless than me.
