For what is worth welcome on board.
There is a lot of useful info on/in this forum just need to find it then ask the questions..
A TT engine powered 5Exi sounds fun other's are going that way as well so you should have some company.

Welcome to the world of EXI, I hope you enjoy your build, should be intersting with your power unit.
You asked any doos and donts, just a though that some other builders have done while your welding the engine mounts ect, might be worth welding the back frame that carries the rear clam to the rest of the chassis. This should help with the strenth, the new chassis is all one.
I am sure there will be plenty of help should you want on your journey.

Hi Adam, welcome, hope you get on well with teh build. Did Tony pass you the CD of photos I sent him of my build, it shows the new rear chassis in case you are interested in trying to strength to match.
Cheers

Hi Adam.
Welcome aboard. I'm in the process of build a Seat engined based build. Totally different I would guess from the way Marlin have done there's.
Could you not ask them for the engine mounts?

Hi Steve,
Mark at Marlin has already suggested that. It is on my list for a job to do before getting it shot blasted.
I will hve to make alll the engine/box mounts too.
Not sure whether to try and stiffen the rear any more at the same time.
Planning around 450bhp. Have had long chats with the guys at Integrated Engineering in Saltlake City intengineering.com
Maybe traction control / or even launch control )

Hi David. Thanks for the welcome!
Tony mentioned the CD but he couldnt find it. If you could drop me a copy, i would be very happy, as have nothing at the moment whatsoever!
Let me know what i owe you for it.
By the way, i run a graphics business based in gloucester. We can do everything from cut stickers to full vehicle wraps. Have a look at signwerx.co.uk for more info!

Hi Limpabit
If you are using the seat 1.8t it is the audi lump. as skoda, vw etc.
Marlin have made all the mounts specifically for each car. I have to cut off the standard mounts on the car and put new on when the engine goes in.
If your engine is the same, it might be worth making the mounts together.
