Always a good feeling when you can drive it on the road legally.

Just need the weather to pick up a bit. But I bet that won't stop you popping out with your new plates!

It's been a while since I posted an update, still not turned a wheel in anger - but with good reason, I accidently ripped out the old ECU and bought one of these:

Then I found I was up to by eyeballs in this:

Then thought "I should do this properly" so blew the budget on these:

Although still not quite finished, here are a few photos of the wiring loom in progress...

Each wire has been colour coded with heat shrinkable "idents" to allow easy diagnosis of problems and allow tracability throughout the system - it also allows you have 100+ different colour codes so you never have to have the same coloured wire twice

Wires all coded up, crimped and ready to be inserted into the connector

Looking good Chris.

I know how you feel. Takes a lot of time to do the wiring and get right.

Trouble with the wiring is, once finished and looking neat, people don't realise what work has gone into it and the amount of hours involved.

Nearly complete...

Rear engine bay power harness to fuel pumps and accusump

Rear engine bay sensor harness to oil pressure & temp. fuel pressure, lambda, fuel level and rear wheel speed sensors

Wheel speed sensor connector

Connectors passing through rear bulkhead

Auxillary sensor connector for future proof expansion

Souriau connector with wiring inserted

Harness being laid up in the cockpit

Should fire up before christmas

I think I'll save the wiring up of the digital dash for later once I've run the engine in as I'll be running it on the laptop during that time doing some road mapping

Been laid up with 3 slipped discs so progress had pretty much slowed to a stop, but this week I've been doing 1/2 and hour a day just finishing off the small jobs that always get put off, so here's a few pix of progress to date:

Front end off to make a cowl for the radiator(s):

I've already had the DTA running with the loom off the car so (fingers crossed) it should work now it's in!

Those silicon hoses look nice and brighten up the engine bay.

Just got my custom radiators, all copper/brass for durability rather than lightness!! (and cost!)

Mockup:

2 core Charge Cooler Rad:

3 core Engine Coolant Rad:

The charge cooler rad fixes to the main rad with the fans bolted onto a mounting flange on the front of the main rad. The flaps that are on the main rad are also to fit the cowling to guide the flow from the front grill openings

Got some fibreglass arriving later so will make the cowling out of that

Will do, it looks like I've got a couple of oil leaks I need to sort first and there's one follower that hasn't filled with oil yet so I'll get that lot done early next week

Teething problems. We all have them.

Can't test for leaks etc until she's started and under pressure.

I had the same with oil and water. God that oil is under some amount of pressure. Especially when it goes all over the engine bay and floor!
