Orca 2021
Autumn 2021 and still some lovely sunny days for some country lane driving.
Note: Photos attached at bottom as not displaying correctly for non-members
Visiting some castles
As you can see no paint job just some white primer to play with colour designs.
This is the Gary "Orca" look with the new indicator position thanks to SteveD
Not the best light for side on shots and my masking tape skills are not the best, but then there are so many compound curves.
I had a great drive with the engine roaring and wind whistling along some empty roads, until I reached the villages full of half term tourist who I suspect were scratching their heads to identify it.
However I cannot say I have pushed it enough to get any under-steer or over-steer around the bends, but maybe better that way.
So here is my final picture for this year as I drive off into the sunset.

Nice to hear that you're still using your Blackbird.
It might just be me, but I can't see any pictures attached, which is a shame.

HouseMartin - Great to see you out and about.
Mr T & Oxford - That's odd, as I can see both the photos in the post and the attachments.
Can you see this photo below?

In Use
Using my G46 as much as possible.
Even took it to a small local car show this January.
Go shopping in it too as long as the weather allows!

Quality
Steve,
Great photo of you braving the winter conditions.
The G46 almost looks black in that light.
Was that a very chilly 60mph heading out on the country roads?
Fantastic to know you are enjoying it throughout the year.

It's actually quite warm, there is a recirculating heater for the footwells and the jacket is a genuine fighter pilot one so very warm sheepskin with long sleeves.
Gets a bit breezy around 90 - 100 mph though!

2023 Warm Summer Drive
I finally got some spare time during the warm weather to get the G46 out of storage.
Only a flat battery, low tyres pressure and a wobbly gear lever needed fixing before I could get back on the road.
Why did I wait so long to enjoy the thrill of a 1970 chassis and the noise of essex v6 in the open breeze.
So much fun around the twisty road keeping it in 2nd and 3rd gear just stay legal.
The only downside was losing my baseball cap at around 70mph on the dual carriage way when I lifted my head too high for a second.
Did not remember to pull over for photos so just a reminder for me.
No paint job.....but still on the road

HouseMartin – Good to see you and your car out and about.
Steve D – There is some difference between your car and your girlfriend’s Ultima!
Did she build it herself and is there a build thread?
Cheers, Paul.

When the rain stopped in spring 2024
I finally got the orca out of storage for a drive this weekend.
Hopefully one of many drives this year as it will be living back at home for some much needed tlc and paint prep.
Stopped at a weighbridge to see how much weight it had lost from the standard scimitar without its roof and heavy doors.
So 980KG with half a tank of fuel compare to the curb weight of 1135kg scimitar, so still a heavy car compared to the 800kg of a 1958 tessa rossa.
I am looking forward to loading some old and new photos soon.
