Default Front Clam 'insert'

Hi All,
Been working on fitting the dash and bodywork this week. Have had it all on, and off again, and now putting it back together!

Most of the panel fits are what I have come to expect from reading the forums on and off over the years, but the insert (not the splitter that fits underneath) for the front clam seems miles out: With it just dropped in place, one side is quite a good fit but the other is about 30 odd mm out.

It looks as though some of the edge on the clam where this part fits needs removing, so that it can slide down a bit and 'wedge' into place. Is this what others have done, or have you trimmed the bottom edge off of the insert so that it fits further down?

Thanks for any replies in advance
Tim

Hi Tim.

Is there any chance you could post a picture of the area you mean?

Yep - you need to cut a slot out of the main panel, then slide the insert down.

Cheers - thought I might need to.

Things were going so well recently then had a real downer yesterday at a rolling road! See my other post for details.

Thanks again
Tim
