Talking of which, don't Aston hold some sort of copyright on their grill shape? Sure I read that - recognisable dress or something? Proceed carefully!

I had been thinking along similar lines. Maybe if it was supplied with an infill panel in the grill corners to take a pair of driving lights.
Not Tributes fault if the new owner deletes them.

Or stick closer to the Mondeo shape.

I think Shelby found out how hard it is to claim trade dress of a 60's inspired open air sports car. He was able to hit replica builders for badging and naming only. An oval shaped grill is not trade dress. He even went after Factory Five Racing over their coupe design only to lose again. Ferrari has a real beef with someone pawning off a car with Ferrari badges, that is where the line is crossed.

IIRC AM have already stated they won't allow anyone to use the distinctive grille shape - an unaltered (unmasked?) Ford grille surely wouldn't upset anyone? except Ford maybe

And Ford are unlikely to put up a fight over a grill sourced in the open market that comes without badges and will carry none, used on a model that bears no resemblance to any model they have ever produced under Ford badging. After all, apart from the GTO, who would want a replica Ford?

I’d have a MXico. You seen the prices of battered old Mk1 1100 shells restored to look like RS2000s ?
