Sebastien, salut et bienvenue!
Excellent work so far, I like your use of a new chassis and motor - the donor chassis appeared to have turned to dust.
I too am a huge fan of the tin snail, your car will have a much more supple ride than the Triumph based cars which will probably mean it's going to be faster on bumpy roads as you won't have to slow down to stay on the road.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build, have you decided on a colour yet?
Ă* bientĂ´t!

Zebre69 - Welcome to the forum Sebastien.
Great build diary so far, you clearly know what you are doing.
Bon Chance, Paul.

Thanks a lot !
New pictures of my SAMMIO during this WE. The bodyshell is not fixed yet, only put on for an easier stockage.
To have an idea of the difference of size between my SAMMIO CHEVAUX (PILOT CV) and my old Citroen 2cv 1960, I v' take some pictures.
My new BURTON weels :
For the rear lamps witch position do you prefer ?
To answer you Mister Towed, my car will be red indeed ! :-)
I will put tripod lamps for the front like you. The car will be a little like that (I've modified your picture) :
For the seats, what do you think about INTATRIM (Apolo model or Gemini model) ?
http://www.intatrimtelford.co.uk/ind...mart&Itemid=26
I v'e got in my SAMMIO CV only 48cm for the hight dimension? Is it possible to order a sat lower than their models ?

Hi again Sebastien.
I also loved the look of the Intatrim Apollo seats, but the dimensions on their web site would make them too tall for a Sammio fitment without sticking out of the top of the cockpit.
I've used a pair of these from Dax and had them upholstered locally -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dax-AC-Cob...item1e69e33947
Dimension 'A', a line drawn from the floor vertically to the highest point of the seat is only 440mm, so you could either bolt them straight onto the floor or use locking runners so they can be adjusted, but still fit within the body tub.
Oh, and it might be worth contacting the seller as I got a pair of shells for just over ÂŁ100 delivered.
To my mind your tail lights look better closer together
Anyway, keep up the good work and keep those pictures coming.

Thanks for the link !
I don't understand the seat's mesures : they say "..."The seat measures 430w x 500d x 500h..."
Could you confirm the mesures with this drawing please ?
A =
B =
D =

Usually W = Width, D = Depth & H = Height.
Therefore A = 500, B = 500 & D = 430.
Note:
Sometimes D = Depth of seat only, which would be "C" in your drawing.
But I would read that as D = Depth overall, which is "B" in your drawing.
Anyway I am sure Mr T will be along with the correct answer shortly.
Cheers, Paul.

That's exactly the way I read it Paul.
I'd recommend a very laid back seat for any Sammio. The cockpit is quite shallow, even with lowered floor pans, so upright seats leave your head and shoulders sticking up into the wind blast, which spoils both the aerodynamics and your coiffure, assuming you have hair. IMHO, the bigger the difference between measurements 'B' and 'C' the better.
If you take a look at my seats, they're mounted a long way forward but leg room isn't a problem. I'm 179cm with unusually long upper leg bones, but I have to slide the seat forward a couple of notches for the best position.
Anyway, I've got some sanding to do now so good luck finding the right seats.

[QUOTE=Mister Towed;44159]...even with lowered floor pans, .../QUOTE]
I can't place lowered floor pans in a 2cv chassis, so I have to find the most lower seat that I can
You say in one of your message that the highest point of your seat is only 440mm but I read 500mm in the DAX documentation. Do you have another model of DAX seat ?
Thanks Viatron ! I will be happy to give the car for the paint at the end of summer. It should be nice isn't it but I will do the best than I can to respect my Schedule.
Phil9, The car will be paint in red nd the weels will be paint aluminium. In fact the french official blue's name is "Bugatti blue".

No those are definitely the ones I've got. A line measured vertically from the floor to the highest point of the seat is 440mm, but if you measure at an angle from the rear of the seat base to the top it's 500mm.

10/06/13
Departure for the workshop (at my job) :
Then the work began at 14:00 Friday to finish at 18:30. During 4:30 we finally not advanced much given the number of times to achieve ... First I had to remove the body and the metal frame from the chassis.
The first job was the modification of the 2 rear fixing lugs for fixing the frame to the 2cv's chassis but the space between the fittings and the below the top plate of the frame is 25mm fort the front and only 18mm for the back. The kit manufacturer has done the same attachment to the front as the back and so the back was too high / upper plate of the chassis.
The steel frame is made of square section steal tube 20 * 20 * 2 and the fixing lugs was made in steal section 30 * 5. As the platinum fixing was welded under the tube was the right number for the front (20 +5 = 25mm). but it is much too high on the back. Lets go now to modify these fixing lugs !
Sorry for my English another time !
My second job : replace the rear bar at the good place : 8cm further !
The beginning of the partition:
The rear bar is now at the correct place, We can begin the construction of the luggage’s compartment.
Nest Friday afternoon, we will finish the metal frame.…

Nice work Sebastien, don't worry about your standard of English, it's good enough to get the meaning across and a lot better than my French. En fait, mes amis français me disent david, vous parlez français comme une vache espagnole.

As others have said, your English is better than my French.
But based on your photos, the welding is miles better than mine!
I look forward to seeing your build progress.
Bon chance, Paul.

Great video Sebastien. That's what it's all about, the sheer pleasure of driving something from another era. We'll have to have a European Sammio meet one day...

I am just about to embark on building my frame and am in awe of yours - it's a thing of beauty. Did you produce drawings before starting, or was it "designed" as you went along? Any tips or suggestions?
