Default High Level Brake Light

Hi...

Not sure on this one......Marlin supply a high level centre brake light in the kit. I don't want to position it in the engine vent cover as they have...in fact I don't want it at all.

But, will it pass SVA without?

Anyone know?

Rich

Default Eye Level

Well Rich it depends who is doing the SVA.

After reading of the problems that MarlinTurbo had down West, with his lights failing due to the recess I cut mine into the rear of the car a'la Boxer and the examiner made no comment at all.

If I were you I would play it safe and use it even if it's only a temporary fitting.

Regards Trev

I dont think the 3rd break light is needed for SVA, the Sportsters dont have them and pass just fine

No need for a third stop lamp.

But you will need to meet the following for Stop lamps.

Angle of visibility:

a Horizontal:- 45 degrees inwards and outwards

b Vertical:-

1) <1500mm above the ground - 15 degrees above and 10 degrees below Horizontal.
2) <750mm above ground - 15 degrees above and 5 degrees below horizontal.
3) otherwise 15 degrees above and below horizontal.

Looking at marlins and speaking to Mark, they used a foam spacer to extand the light out. But not sure if this was the brake light.
