Default Seat Belt Anchorage

Trev,

I assume you have harnesses and the harness bar fitted.

At my SVA, I was cross-examined for it's strength. I had to call Mark at Marlin to obtain the OD and wall thickness of the tube. The examiner discussed this with his colleagues during a break and it was deemed ok.

At SVA, I put to the examiner, that other cars had passed with the same ORIGINAL Marlin kit...

Default Bah

Yup mate,

I have the original kit from Marlin.

Like you I argued that it had been accepted else where.

However I was then advised that Robin Hood had tried to pull the same stunt on their kits and challenged the VOSA decision.

It boils down to will the bar hold 3 ton back in the event of heavy duty breaking, my examiner said that as the bar bent under his own strength it was unlikely to hold back the above mentioned weight.

I asked what it would take for him to approve, he said replace the whole thing with 3 point standard harness either static or inertia.

Just cant win with the bar, anyone have a set of 3 points I can borrow till through SVA?

Regards Trev

Trev,

I don't have a set of 3 point harness but I'm going to need them.

So how about I buy a set and you can borrow them?? Or you buy a set and I buy them off you??

What ever you want to do. Red would be good.

BTW what point harness do you have?

Default You are so kind John

What can I say mate!

I have 4 point, which are most reassuring when you hit the accelerator.

Got mine from Burton Power who are not the cheapest, so it may be best for you to get em, and I'll borrow just for SVA.

Thanks again John

No problem mate. Will there be any problems on mounting a 3 point?

I'll get looking about.

Default Crazy I know

This was it John,

He was delighted with the mounting bracket as fitted to the roll cage, so he kept saying fit a 3 part static.

It was only the bar he took exception to.

Although I didn't mention it in the other posts he also failed me for a off side indicator repeater bulb blowing whyile on the test.

I said, but you saw it working 30 seconds ago, it just went. No it's not working now...fail.

Crazy man

Trev
