Apologies just read the whole thread, looks great mate. Still very tempted to do one of these! Also how permanent is hydro dipping on chrome parts mate? Ive never used it yet.

Im not sure yet! A lad I work with bought a big tank with a heating element and hes been doing bits himself. Im sure if you lacquer them after it should be pretty permanent. At the moment the light rings have just been sprayed black so it looks finished as im flying back to the uk next week for my friends wedding and Im going to collect it then and have a friend drive it to spain for me the following week.

Once ive got it in spain I'll strip the parts and post them off to get done!

before the chrome bits where sprayed, they were sanded and primed.

Wing mirrors are from the new shape corsa VXR, fully electric.

They do look similar ish to the z3 1s but i think just enough of a difference so the z3 looks are gone. I also wanted them to be practical as it will be my every day driver.

Danny - Do your neighbours think you have won the lottery?

Jokes aside, the Kobra looks really good.

Cheers, Paul.

The car looks amazing. I really like the whole concept of a classic with a modern twist, also, the details like the reshaping of the doors.

One detail question - what did you do regarding wheel badges? I assume they no longer say BMW?

The new center cap badges have the ac logo on, I also have a boot and bonet badge which I had sprayed matt black. They will be put on after Ive had the black stripes put through.

Heres a nice photo from the Spanish mountains...

I never used spacers on my cobra, just wider wheels. The spacers on my MX250 where from a company in USA as they where cheaper than what a friend of mine could engineer them for me however I ended up paying inport tax so it would of worked out the same.

Default spacers

www.42draftdesigns.com over in the states they made mine as they were split to go from 4 x 100 (mx 5) to 5 x108 (ferrari) I had three quotes all from the us all around the same price, I chose them because they were very specific about the measurements, they are alloy, all three companies warned against having spacers made in China most of which seemed to made of steel.
