Default Madabout gallery

John (limpabit), have you seen you've managed to change your car for a 5exi-r without doing a thing......?

Did not even notice they were in the gallery!

I was always confused (and still am) what exi-R is.

Whether it mean't dooRs or type-R.

After cursing the looks of the roof, it's practical and cossy inside with two. Though no oil painting the roof, don't look as bad as I thought in them photos. Or is it just me!

I always understood 5EXI-R to be the Type-R versions, i.e. that Marlin adopted the '-R' naming from Honda.

I've always thought the 'R' was for the doored version of the 5EXi, hence the inclusion in the gallery.

Perhaps 5EXi girl can clarify it.

I thought the same as JG.

I bit of a pain for JG to separate in the gallery then.

Just change the gallery title in the galley JG. 5EXI and 5EXI doors!

Reply received from Terry at Marlin;

"Good question. Originaly it really was just for any cars that used the Civic 'R' engine but as this was put into the first car with doors it kind of became the new name for both. However if someone builds a car using doors but with any engine except the 'R' then it would still be just a 5EXi."

Looks like I need to make changes to the gallery

John

Whilst discussing the name, I still think 5EXI is a terrible name.

It is a bit of hairdressers name.

But once I tell them the name and they stop laughing, tell them it's quicker that a Porsche 911 turbo, they start rolling about calling me a fibber.

But the look on there face, and grip of there hands on the seats, when I floor the throttle after. They come out kissing the ground!

There's a good underground roundabout at Canary Wharf in London. Exhaust sounds great there, and the look on there faces when there hanging on there seats for grip! That's without the turbo!

Comment: Seemed as fast as a Vauxhall red top Lotus Seven. I wait the time when I talk him out now the turbo is working1
