Default Petrol tank

Hi,
I'm sorry to say I've not visited the site for a while, so i was reading the news on the home page. The 'Dispensation' article caught my attention and It prompted a few thoughts on may intended route for a petrol tank in my car.
I had intended to make my own from 1.6mm stainless steel. This was so I could make it the right size to fit across the back of the boot area behind the passenger bulkhead.
I'm pretty certain I will need to get it though an IVA, with that in mind

My query is can I do this? Is it possible so long as I have test doc's? If so just what sort of test would it need and where would I get it tested?

Where's the challenge in just buying something
