Default Sva

Hi Evereyone,

Ages since I posted anything here, not that I have stopped by build, no more disgust at the approach of my local SVA centre.

Had my 3rd re-test yesterday, failed again!!

Plenty of lectures on things like:- Do Marlin still make this? Do not like the engine set up have you thought about... I wouldn't use flexible brake hoses that long, why dont you replace em with pipes.......

Yet another inspector failed my car and gave me a list of items that I should change, this one started with the steering rack, moved onto chassis, on to brakes and finished with changing the engine position!

Funny, nothing constructive.

Booked in for a re-test next Tuesday, if it fails again Limpabit should look for two body's floating in the Thames one Orange and the other Red with anger.

On one good note I actually tried a 0 to 60 from a set of lights, if you are building a turbo like me I suggest you use extreme caution, neckbrace and do not eat for at least 2 hours before making the attempt.

I always thought those evolution thingy's were supposed to be fast. From watching in my mirror I'm sure he had it in reverse.

Best wishes to all builders.

Trev

Sorry to hear it failed again. Beginning to have second thoughts with going for the SVA at Chelmsford. There seems to be some inconsistancy as it did not fail on these items on previous SVA's you went to did it? Different examiner from the other 2 SVA exam's?

If I can help in any way, I'm off work at the moment. So if you need an extra pair on hands or someone to kick instead of the car, then I'm hear if your need me!

Not sure what your plans are work wise, but I can pop down during the week or weekend. Is there any chance I can pop along to your next SVA?

Perhaps go down mob handed with completed 5EXI's to show them they still exist.

Trev,

I reckon it's time to call Mark at Marlin for some support. He would write and/or call them to discuss this fiasco.

The "rules" as I understand it are that the SVA examiner should only re-test those items that failed...and no more.

HTH mate,

John.
