Default Steering rack gaitor

Hi guys.

I know the rack is from a metro. But there are 3 different types going by the motor factors.

Has anybody got any idea which one?

I've emailed Marlin so hopefully I'll have some information soon.

What about measuring the diameters and length required then you can go down there with the spec needed

And know this sounds silly, but I've tried a couple of local places (local motor factors and Halfords), but have any on the shelf. Need to be ordered in.

I have a couple more to try.

Found a car accessory shop with a few different types on the shelf.

Cut what was left of mine off and matched it with what they had on the shelf. But still don't know which Metro it's from!

Hi John,

How come your rack was knackered......reason I ask is I had an advisory on mine at last MOT (Marlin supplied unit originally) and wondered if it was (yet) another design prob.

Hi Rich.

I'm not sure why the boot did this. Just noticed it was twisted and split. Maybe because the rack restrictors were removed??? I don't know. But others don't seem to be getting the problem.
