Engine wiring loom - fusible link
Just a note to anyone building a 325 based Sportster where the battery was originally in the boot. You may have noticed that when stripping the doner there was a thick lead and a thin lead going to the battery. The thin lead is connects to the engine wiring loom and from there on the ECU The reason it is seperate is so that the ECU doesn't suffer from voltage drop when the engine is cranking.
When wiring up the the Sportster don't be tempted to connect the feed to the engine loom (four red wires of various sizes in one ring crimp) directly to the battery - make sure you include the fusible link that you will find at the battery end of the thin wire from the donor car.
I only mention this because I almost did it myself!
