Exeter Kit Car Show 27/28th October 2012
Just thought I would start a thread for the Exeter show so we have an idea who and what cars may be in attendance. I will go on one of the days but will decide that based on the Sammios I can see there.

I was going to be there but am not allowed to drive, the wife doesn't drive and it is a long way to walk on crutches so it looks like a no for me, sorry.

I have a day-pass from SWMBO for one of the days and i'm certainly intending on going in the Spyder. But for me which day will depend on the weather forecast!
I'm also not keen on just plodding up and down the M5 to get there, despite that being the quickest option for me.
So i'm currently looking at cross-country options and if i can meet up with any others on the way that'll be superb! Pat?
My current thinking is to do cross-country and drop down to the A303 and then take that & A30 across to Exeter?

I might go, but not in the Spyder. That will be in belgium at its new home.
I am, however, on the look out for parts for my next project for early next year

Hi, I'll be there both days but Skippy is under going a radical rebuild I may be at the stage to trailer her there or the 550 on which I'm doing shifter linkage and hyd clutch system, but I think Skippy will be of most interest to Sammio'ers I'm chuffed to nuts with her. I'll put up some pics soon once the body goes back together, longer a alot of it in the bonnet I can't wait to roll her out the garage............. cheers PAT

Looking forward to seeing the revitalised skippy. Won't make Exeter, I'm afraid, it's a bit far and my car's not quite finished yet.

Long range weather forecast looks good atm. But after a run out the other day i'll certainly be digging out the flying jacket and goggles for the run down!
If weather is going to be good both days i'll most likely pop down when the most of you will be there. any preference?
Pat - what time will you be going down and what route will you be taking? Seeing as i drive right past your place, i may try and follow you down if you don't mind?
Gaz - will you be taking your red shiny posermobile as well as the G46?

Weather forecasts are saying that Sat will be the best bet, clear and cold!
So as long as I've recovered from this man-flu, then I shall be there on Saturday in the Spyder, fingers crossed!

Man-flu gone (it was a near thing there for a while!) and the forecast for Sat is still looking good:
From BBC Weather:
Forecast Summary
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Saturday largely dry, cold and sunny. Turning cloudier on Sunday, with rain later. Temperatures returning to nearer normal and becoming windy. Sunny spells and a few showers on Monday.
So as far as attendances seem to be: - I'll be there on Sat - look out for the comedy m'ovember beard!
- Pat will be around both days
- Gaz will be there (probably only on Sat?)
- Tony may be there?
- Towed has made his excuses (out battering innocent photographers or the somesuch?)
- WCA is still pulling the sympathy card as he's got a 'sprained ankle'
And from looking at that list it seems as i'll be the only one driving there in a Sammio?
No flying foreign visits this year
Any signs of a royal visit from Preston/Poole?

I'm afraid I won't be able to make it this time around due to 'day job' deliverables but I hear whispers that Gaz may be there with a G46!

Sprained Ankle!!!!!!!!! :-)
Doc is fairly sure now that the foot is saved so I just have to wait with zero weight bearing until Christmas when they do the next set of scans and decide whether to fuse, primary fuse or if it does need amputating.
While the G46 has been parked up I have been trying something else.
I am now suddenly drawn to sites about hub based brushless electric motors...

Saturday it is then. My son and I will be up for the day.
What a shame the Sammio marque is not going to be represented by the company. Certainly a missed opportunity to promote the cars.
Hopefully there will be more Sammios next year, ours included!!!!!
P.S. Have you seen the A352 project on the Tribute build thread? Nice!

It is a pity but the current plan is for a winter regroup/plan and enhancement to the products along with getting 'booth' material up to scratch then making a proper go of the 2013 season. Some shows will be attended with a booth, others will be an organised 'not a club' pitch so customer cars can take part. Either way, I'd rather do this than attend a show without all the material needed.

Last weather update from me before i start all the last minute checks for the trip tomorrow and atm all is still looking good!
Forecast Summary
Saturday
After a frosty start, it will be a dry day with prolonged sunny spells. Despite the sunshine, it will feel cold, especially in areas exposed to the brisk northerly wind.
I plan on getting there for 10.30/11 and i have a few hrs day-pass from SWMBO so i should be around until after lunch.
