Munky - Just to be clear…
I wasn't questioning the integrity of the light blue car's build, as I think it looks incredible.
So my apologies if my comments came across that way.
It was more that I would love to see an interior that looked like an old Gentleman's Club.
( This is a restored Type 57S Atalante that featured in 'Classic & Sports Car' magazine. )
As for your question in general…
I think you could have both great paint and chrome on the outside, but a "lived in" interior.
The logic being that as a proud owner, you would like to keep the bits other people see shiny…
But if the seat had moulded itself to your shape over years of use to be perfectly comfortable then why would you change it?

I didn't take it that way, but thanks for being kind enough to explain.
I think I need to work a little harder with my next kit to make it a little more 'right' in this area. I get what you mean. Lived in but very cared for and presentable. My last 356 coupe was a little too much like sitting in a new car!
Right now, I'm redoing parts of my Atom build and as that has one rigid plastic bench seat (all be it with a bit sticking up in the middle) it probably won't be my first point to experiment with!

+1 on the registration . I think its a big visual part of a car like this ...it's not so bad on the classic donor based cars , but the much newer donors really benefit from a cheap number change ...its a small extra expense and a lot less than many expenses on a car like this and has a huge visual impact in my opinion ...
Interestingly , J-TVR , I am of an age where , in Bournemouth , if not everywhere ...before they started the A reg system for re-issues , they were issuing B reg numbers ... I worked in the number plate industry for quite a few years in the 80's and 90's , for one of the larger firms around at that time , Collectors Auto's , and then as an independent .....
They started issuing A registration numbers in the larger boroughs in 63 , but as the smaller towns didn't sell the volume of vehicles the cities did , they continued to work through their allocated numbers on the list that were 'dateless' ..The very low volumed sales areas even continued to issue dateless when the first B reg. numbers came in too .... In 64 , everyone had to start issuing B registrations to fall in line with the new system and it left many number combinations unused..
Every year , boroughs were allocated sets of numbers and had to work through the list ....this is why the re-issued dateless registrations for years and years were Scottish issued combinations ..ie. had an 'S' in the middle or end of the 3 letter combination ....many Scottish boroughs sold a very low volume of cars , so when the A and B suffix system came in ...many combinations were left unused ...when DVLA started the age related system , they used many of the combinations that had not been issued and started with the Scottish ones as they were the largest group unused ...
That BPR ***A registration on the car above is actually a Bournemouth issued number from memory ...

I reckon about £100-120k finished for that puppy. Shame the gauges are in English, not Italian. DNA have sourced Italian reps, good attantion to detail!

Stunning, gunmetal with a red interior has got to be one of the best colour combinations.
Dash looks amazing, had you thought of offering the dash and instruments on their own? Might be another stream of income, can see a few Tribute owners investing in one.
Hows the Daytona coming along? Any photo's showing the mock up build.

I doubt very much if that would happen .. I don't think DNA need to do that , the kits are going out the door well enough by the sounds of it and they are understandably very protective of their designs and developments ...
That is a very pretty car ..hats off to everybody involved in that build ..

All depends on the margin. Better to be sitting in a Tribute and a decent profit in your wallet than sitting on a shelf. Often with this sort of item you can also lower your costs buy buying more parts from your supplier.
Not expecting them to be cheap (apart from my massive discount for coming up with the idea!!).

The tail light looks awesome. Just wondering about the laws though. Does it need to be e-marked or whatever the standard is? Or is this a detail that just doesn't get noticed during checks?

Not in the UK, it's France and Germany who get anal about 'E" numbers.
