Default March 10 - what are you doing this weekend?

I have given up trying to get the bushings in the suspension I am waiting until next weekend when I can borrow my mates workshop bench press thingy which should pop them in nicely (yeah right!)

This weekend I will get my 11 year old godson under the car to clean off the rest of the chassis and then I will get it POR15'd

Get the wheel back on the drivers side front and leave that in one piece so I know how to put together the passengers side when i get the bushings back in

They are my only commitments but I will like to get...

The axle stand moved to the back passenger side, the rear suspension stripped and ready for shot blasting during the week

Get the fuel pump looked at to see if it can be made to work. If it does, fit it.

Get the timing sorted so I can close up the engine.

Get a fan belt and the alternator fitted

Get some of the water hosing in place so I know what i don't have

So worst case I have a painted chassis, best case I have an engine almost ready to go and suspension ready to be refitted on one side next weekend.

Over to you guys. What are you planning

rolling chassis and I'd love to get the floorpans cut and trial fitted.
Might even pop the frame on for a look-see

I take it you only have small areas of corrosion to clean up if you've ordered a spot blaster?

Small spots?

I have replaced the bad bits, the rest is really just removing the grease and sh1t3 with some surface rust.

i am buying it with the idea of using it to power the air sander rather than killing my little electric sander.

It should do the trick for diy air tools. All I meant about the spot blaster is that that's exactly what they're for - blasting small patches, not whole chassis but I guess you already knew that...

Chassis POR15'd - Except for the really greasy bit by the engine and gear box. Enough for me, the grease is stopping the rest rusting.

Get the wheel back on the drivers side front and leave that in one piece so I know how to put together the passengers side when i get the bushings back in. - Done

The axle stand moved to the back passenger side, the rear suspension stripped and ready for shot blasting during the week - Done

So in summary, lots of stuff cleaned and painted. next weekend my mate has promised me access to his press to put in the bushings. All the suspension on the passengers side is removed, cleaned, POR15'd and waiting for the bushings to be pushed in.

I have a mate coming round next weekend to help me out on the engine next weekend. I need to get the fuel pump sorted and the fan belt, some water hoses and other bits but there might be a chance of getting it ready to turn over next weekend*

*Not a prayer in reality but here's hoping
