Default Noisey Fuel Pump

From the first time I switched my Hi pressure fuel pump on it has been noisey. Last week I got around to sending it back to Sytec for testing.
They have returned it stating it is working well, even under raised temperature - apparently they are prone to drop pressure when warm, and that the noise level is "normal". They claim not to be able to hear it 7-8 feet away.
I suspect their hearing aid battery needs testing!

Does anyone else have the Sytec Hi pressure pump - and if so, can you hear it above the engine at tick over - I can mine!

They also suggested that the fuel filter spring clips I used to attach it to the chassis were not appropriate - they pinch the rubber coat too much (the indent is still apparent in the foam as seen above) - and would be better if I used one of their proper brackets. As you do, I bought one over the phone, and then realised just how much I had agreed to pay for it with VAT + postage!
A fool and his money...........

I am also, going to fit a 12mm union out of my tank to see if increasing the potential flow rate from the tank helps (I only had a 10mm O/D union with quite a small I/D).

I think I have the same model although mine came from Marlin. Its mounted on the engine side of the passenger bulkhead. It buzzes a little but you can't hear it when the engine is running. My bracket is made from a couble of stainless jubilee clips.....

I wonder if your chassis is resonating and amplyfying the sound??

Mine is mounted with hose clips but isolated from the chassis with a couple of those rubber bobbins.

Don't think resonance is the issue, as I tested the pump fully floating off the car, and it made little difference? But it'll be interesting to see what its like after the changes. I'll be miffed if there's no difference at all!!

I'll just have to get mine on the road this year and meet up at one of the shows, and then I can compare buzzes!!!!
