Default New build ?

Hi guys im new here,

Well i came across the Tribute mx250 on a well known internet auction site, and this got me thinking. Its about that time in my life when i put all my years of motor vehicle repairs/painting/fabricating to use for me for a change.

I love the look of the mx250 and could see myself swanning around the cotswolds on a weekend !
So i have been busy sourcing a good base car, now i have a couple of questions that hopefully can be answered.

Firstly what is the waiting time from order for the mx250 hardtop kit ?
secondly can i order with slight modifications or is that something i need to do once purchased ?

Well i picked up the base vehicle this afternoon, and i must say what a little gem.
A mk2 low mileage (56000) with 12 months mot, dent to bonnet and front bumper ( like that matters ) and only had to travel 25 miles to get it. Thats a result in my book.

Cheers Hammy ... i will put some pics up of the base car later today.
Seems like there are quite a few knowledgeable chaps on here, always handy when doing a new build.

Good news, hope you enjoyed the drive home . The kit does require some modifications to fit the Mk2, around the doors, slam panel and boot extension panel, but it has been done before

Yeah felt like a kid in a sweet shop ... not a squeek rattle or knock, a proper little motor ... and to my amazement dry inside !!

As for mods to the kit, I do like a challenge, and im in no rush.

Hello and welcome Chap!

I can understand you well.

In earlier days I smiled about the MX5
I thought that my Mustang is the best, a Big Supercharger much much power and so on.

Then I saw the MX250!
I could not sleep properly for days.
Did the pictures showed to my best friend.
He also has a Shelby with enough horsepower.
He was also infected immediately.
So I wrote to Chris.
And then it was done, we ordered 2 kits
Now I've got me a '99 MX bought my buddy one 2002
This little thing handles so great is the madness.
Next week we will pick up the kit and I still have the images in my head.
Oh Chris what you have just done.
I say thank you, that was the best decision ever
greets Heinrich
