Default matt or gloss?

I have just sprayed my roll bar ready for the screen to be fitted and have gone for a matt black finish.....thing is I'm not sure about it!

Whats the consensus? matt or gloss for roll bars

Hi Craig.

Mine has the standard matt black finish from Marlin. Sems to go with the black car. It gets well used getting in and out, so maybe a gloss finish may after time, dull a bit. Or will need constant cleaning. Don't notice the marks as much with the matt.

Satin black from Marlin. Polishes up well and hides the hand prints.

Can't say I've had any problems with my base and lacquer metallic finish. I thought the Marlin black was thin, so painted over it.

Some won't like my black and met' silver combo, but I thought a dark roll cage would be too much.

The colour for the whole car is a personal choice for everybody. No right's or wrongs. When I started building mine, there was no black cars about. But had an idea of red/black. Saw Andy's before ordering bodywork (black), and looked great. So decided to take a chance with black/red. Some may not like it. But I do.

It was a risk. With the roll cage though. It can be painted if you don't like it.
