If a used set comes up I'll be all over them but ultimately that's the cost of full stainless - I don't want to be worried about keeping chrome dry! Budgeting for worse case scenario. What will you use for your NEC show car? The curlys and adaptors?

I am using reverse lace appliance wheels that look similar to borranis, can take a photo if you need. We have them all over ebay US, maybe you can find a set to ship to the UK? I paid $300 for a set in mint shape.

Nice, but $800 postage and packing plus import duty and vat makes them a bit pricey on this side of the pond.

I have a couple of customers going to Le Mans, perhaps we could get a convoy going? I want to go in my red Kali. Interior will be done also.

You would never guess it but I'm a big fan of the LeMans Classic !

Hope to be there this year , not sure what I'll be driving but I should be able to do a long weekend. I can recommend the camp site at La Fleche , about 15 miles south of the circuit. Usually lots of classic owners stay there as the facilities on the circuit leave a lot to be desired and the camping municipal is very good. Even has a swimming pool etc !

Depends which crossing you make , the tunnel works out the best deal ( we use Tesco vouchers to pay for it ).Otherwise about £140 ish.

But it is a longer drive for most so more fuel.

Diesel is much cheaper in France , petrol about the same . £25 diesel each way from Calais to LeMans.

If you use motorway on the French side ( about 30 Euros in Tolls ) it is easy to do the distance in a day so you don't have to worry about an overnight stop. Again , depends how far you have gone on the UK side.

Camping Municipal at La Fleche, I think it was about £15 / night.

Basic weekend LeMans ticket was about £85 last time I went. You can pay extra if you want to go around the pits or have a stand seat. I never bother with that as there is so much to see anyway! There are many better viewing areas other than the stands too.

Don't bother with a parking ticket , there is a secret place you can park for free all weekend ( pm me ! ).

Other than that , food a drink , extra fuel for blatting around ! The roads around that area are great ! Drive the circuit if you are there earlier in the week , most of it is public road !

Back to the wheels....emailed MWS this morning and got responses within 10 minutes. Rang and spoke to Craig and he was excellent. Shocked at weight of 16x7 stainless bolt on.....16.8kg - that's a lot of unsprung weight. Bit of discount on offer for a set and one the shelf ready to go out. Would need spiggots to adopt bore. Interestingly he said that in terms of going centre lock Dayton would be least track affecting option due to them using key drive on hub adaptor allowing the wheel to sit back further.

Like I showed you on the Dayton 17" ones I have. We should have the new splined hubs shortly. They are 13mm shorter.

Should be here in a week. The customer is having his Jaguar E Type curly hub wheel power coated in chrome effect paint and getting a tyre fitted. I will post some pictures as soon as it arrives. Hopefully it will all sit under the arch.
